Olympic Freestyle Wrestling Odds
LONDON, England (TheSpread) – The sport or Freestyle Wrestling has created a number of iconic Olympic moments. Here is a look at the odds for the 2012 Olympics for this sport.

There are a total of 11 freestyle wrestling weight classes, 7 for Men and 4 for Women. Oddsmakers have currently listed 10 of the 11 weight classes and Russia has the favorite in five of the seven men’s classes while Japan is favored in two of the three women’s classes that have odds listed.
In the 2008 Olympics, Russia found its way to three gold medals in freestyle wrestling while Japan women claimed two golds. At the 2011 World Championships, Russia won two gold medals while Japan claimed three golds.
The Americans have had success in freestyle wrestling, but are not favored very well for the 2012 games. On America, Jordan Burroughs, is favored to win his respected weight class. He has odds of +100 to win the gold in the 74kg weight class. Burroughs is the current world champion in his class and he also won the 2011 Pan American Games in 74kg. He is a two-time NCAA national champion for the University of Nebraska.
