Wednesday MLB Playoff Odds
(The Spread) – The Cardinals and Diamondbacks will look to stave off elimination on Wednesday when the 2011 MLB Playoffs continue.
Tonight’s postseason action gets kicked off at 6:00PM ET when the Cardinals host the Phillies in St. Louis. Philadelphia held on to beat St. Louis 3-2 on Tuesday and is now up 2-1 in the series. With a win in Game 4, the Phillies will advance to the National League Championship Series.
Roy Oswalt will take on Edwin Jackson in tonight’s pitching matchup. The Cardinals +108 money line underdogs against the Phillies, who are -115 on the ML. The under is 6-2-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams in St. Louis, while the Phillies are 3-5 in their last eight games against the Cardinals.
In the other series, the Diamondbacks staved off elimination on Tuesday night with a win over the Brewers but their season is on the line again tonight at 9:30PM ET. Arizona is a -107 money line favorite against Milwaukee, which is +101 on the ML.
Joe Saunders will start for Arizona but no starter has been named for Milwaukee as of this writing. According to latest MLB trends, the Brewers are 8-3 in their last 11 road games against the Diamondbacks and 4-2 in their last five games overall versus Arizona.
