A day after the Rays pummeled the Rangers 9-0 in Game 1, they’ll try to go up 2-0 with a win tonight at 7:07PM ET. Oddsmakers have made Texas a –117 money line favorite with Derek Holland on the hill, while the Rays are +110 on the ML. The over is 5-0 in Holland’s last five starts against the Rays but the under is 4-1 in James Shields’ last five starts against Texas.
The Yankees and Tigers got through just one inning before the rains suspended play in Game 1 on Friday night. They’ll resume action on Saturday but neither Justin Verlander nor CC Sabathia will resume pitching. Obviously with this game being resumed and not new, there are no lines for this contest.
The National League Divisional Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers kicks off this afternoon when Ian Kennedy takes on Yovani Gallardo at 2:07PM ET. Oddsmakers have made the Brewers -140 money line favorites over the Diamondbacks, who are +132 in Game 1. Milwaukee is 5-0 in Gallardo’s last five starts against Arizona, but the D-Backs are 5-2 in their last seven games in Milwaukee.
Game 1 between the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies will also take place today, with the first pitch scheduled for 5:07PM ET. Philadelphia is -217 on the money line, while St. Louis is +203 on the ML for Game 1. The Cardinals are 4-1 in their last five games against the Phillies but just 1-4 in Kyle Lohse’s last five outings against Philadelphia, who will start Roy Halladay.
