Sunday MLB Opening Odds

The Phillies have the opportunity on Sunday to sweep a team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year. Philadelphia has won the first three games of its weekend’s series against the Giants, who are playing pitiful baseball at the moment. The Phillies are +125 on the money line, while the Giants have opened as –135 money line favorites with Tim Lincecum on the hill.
The Yankees and Red Sox will battle for first place in the AL East on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. With Josh Beckett on the hill, the Red Sox are –155 money line favorites against the Bombers, who are +145 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Red Sox are 4-0 in Beckett’s last four starts against the Yankees.
The Chicago Cubs have been one of the biggest surprises over the last week and will look to win their eighth-straight game when they take on the Cincinnati Reds at 2:20PM ET. The Cubs have opened as +105 money line underdogs against the Reds, who are –115 on the ML. The under is 4-0 in Bronson Arroyo’s last four starts versus the Cubs.
Staying in the NL Central, the Pirates have now lost nine in a row and will try to salvage one win in their series with the Padres today at 1:35PM ET. The Bucs are 0-5 in their last five home games and 3-13 in their last 16 games overall.
