Dialed In Preakness Odds
(The Spread) – Despite his disappointing showing at the Kentucky Derby, Dialed In once again finds himself among the favorites for the 2011 Preakness.

Odds: Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com listed Dialed In at +400 on the money line when the opening odds were revealed for the Preakness. He had the same opening odds as Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, although oddsmakers have adjusted their lines and now Dialed In is +350. (Animal Kingdom is also the lone favorite at +250.)
Race History: As previously mentioned, Dialed In was favored to win the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, but he was slow out of the gates and finished eighth. Before then, however, he won three out of his first four career races, which included victories at the Grade 1 Florida Derby and the Grade 3 Holy Bull. He also finished second at an allowance on March 6 of this year.
Outlook: One of the main concerns about Dialed In heading into the Kentucky Derby was that he didn’t have a ton of race experience. Those concerns were brought to light when he struggled at Churchill Downs on May 7. But most observers feel as though he will challenge Animal Kingdom this time out, and perhaps spoil the Kentucky Derby winner’s bid at a Triple Crown. While he may not win this Saturday, it would be surprising if Dialed In didn’t run much better than his showing at Churchill Downs.
