Saturday’s matchups feature VCU taking on Butler at 6:09PM ET and Kentucky taking on Connecticut at 8:49PM ET. The games will be played from Reliant Stadium.

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com Butler is a 2.5-point favorite over VCU while Kentucky is a 2.5-point favorite over Connecticut on Saturday.

Over 22,000 public bets have been placed on both games and the underdogs are taking the majority of public wagers. Connecticut is getting 58% of the bets from the public at +2.5 while VCU is getting 57% of the wagers at +2.5 against Butler.

There are a lot of interesting things to consider for this game. For one, Butler is accustomed to the underdog role and is now the favorite, which could work against it. VCU still has the “us against the world” mindset as the Rams can motivate themselves over playing the defending national runner-up in Butler. It would be hard to argue against the idea that VCU has played the best of any of the four remaining teams in the tournament. The Rams have won four of their five tournament games by double figures despite their No. 11 ranking.

In the “main event” featuring Kentucky and Connecticut, fans like the Huskies. Connecticut defeated Kentucky 84-67 early in the season, but the Wildcats had an inexperienced team at that time. The betters could be riding the momentum that Connecticut has had since the Big East tournament and the Huskies will have the best player on the floor in Kemba Walker. Kentucky has gotten clutch play from freshman Brandon Knight, but the Wildcats haven’t had to face a player like Walker all tournament.
