INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – The 2011 Big Ten Tournament may have a No. 1 seed in the big dance at stake and the tournament kicks off on Thursday from Conseco Fieldhouse.

The 11-team tournament begins with three opening round games on Thursday. The three winners of those games advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, and the championship takes place on Sunday.

Ohio State enters the tournament as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com as the Buckeyes have 1/2 odds to win. Other short odds are Purdue (9/4) and Wisconsin (5/2).

Ohio State is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and likely a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Buckeyes have a 16-2 Big Ten record and a 29-2 overall record. Ohio State has won this tournament more than any school, locking up three titles, including the 2010 championship.

Purdue enters the tournament as the second seed with a 14-4 conference record and a 25-6 overall record. The Boilermakers have won this tournament one time, in 2009.

Wisconsin enters the tournament as the third seed as it went 13-5 in Big Ten play. The Badgers are 23-7 overall. Wisconsin is a two-time tournament champion, with the last title coming in 2008.
