Sunday’s NHL Prediction

NEW YORK, NY (THESPREAD) – The best team in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Flyers, travel to the New York Rangers Sunday afternoon for a nationally televised affair. Here is my breakdown of the game.

View Current NHL Odds

Philadelphia has a record of 40-18-6, good for 86 points to lead the Eastern Conference. The Flyers are 20-8-3 in road games. New York is 34-29-4, good for seventh in the conference with 72 points. The Rangers have a home record of 14-16-3.

Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the New York Rangers -120 favorites, while the Flyers have a line of +100. The over-under for the game is 5.5. Here is a look at some of the trends pertaining to the contest.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. New York Rangers, 12:30PM EST (View Matchup)

Philadelphia is 5-0 in the past five meetings with the New York Rangers. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings. The home team is 6-2 in the last eight games between the two teams. The Rangers are 0-4 in their past four home games. My pick is with the Philadelphia Flyers +100. While they are playing on the second half of a back-to-back, they are anxious to shrug off a three-game losing skid. As one of the NHL’s best road team, Philadelphia will do just that.
