ATLANTA, GA (TheSpread) – No. 19 South Carolina looks for its 10th win of the season when it takes on No. 23 Florida State on Friday in the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl.
South Carolina is 9-4 on the season and 7-6 against the spread while Florida State is 9-4 on the year and 6-6 against the point spread odds. Trends show that Florida State is just 1-3-1 against the spread in their last 5 games against the SEC while South Carolina is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 against the ACC.

South Carolina lost 56-17 to Auburn in the SEC Championship to fall to 9-4. The Gamecocks lost to Auburn twice and also fell to Arkansas and Kentucky. On the year, South Carolina averaged 32 points and 391.2 yards per game on offense while the defense held opponents to 22.9 points per contest. The team has been led by freshman running back Marcus Lattimore, who has 1,166 yards and 17 scores while receiver Alshon Jeffrey has 79 catches for 1,387 yards and nine scores.
Florida State lost to Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship 44-33. The Seminoles had won three straight prior to that. In Jimbo Fisher’s first season, the Seminoles averaged 31.8 points and 386.9 yards per game on offense while the defense has held opponents to 19.8 points and 349.1 yards per game on defense. FSU has been led this season by quarterback Christian Ponder, who has thrown for 2,038 yards and 20 touchdowns with eight interceptions. Ponder will play in the bowl game despite a lingering elbow injury.
In terms of injuries, FSU receiver Cameron Wade is questionable for the game with an illness while South Carolina linebacker Shaq Wilson is questionable with a hamstring injury.
Over 10,500 public bets have been placed on this game with South Carolina getting 74% of the wagers with odds of -3 against Florida State on Friday.
