MEMPHIS, TN (TheSpread) – Georgia is looking to make something positive out of a bad season when it takes on Central Florida in the 2010 Liberty Bowl.
Georgia is just 6-6 on the season and 5-7 against the point spread odds while Central Florida is 10-3 on the year and 9-3 against the spread. Trends show that Central Florida is 21-7 against the point spread odds in their last 28 games while Georgia is just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 against a team with a winning record.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have given Georgia point spread odds of -6.5 against Central Florida on Friday. The over/under total has been set at 53.5 points. (View Matchup)
Opening odds had Georgia favored by 7 points. The spread has since dipped down to 6.5 points. The over/under total opened at 54.5 points and climbed up to 55.5 points and has since fallen back to 53.5 points.
Georgia started 1-4 this season but managed to still qualify for a bowl game. The Bulldogs have struggled all year though, not beating a single ranked opponent. Georgia is averaging 34.3 points and 393.8 yards per game on the season while the defense is allowing 23.1 points per game. The Bulldogs have a balanced offense that is led by Aaron Murray, who has thrown for 2,851 yards and 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Central Florida had a strong season, winning the Conference USA championship by beating SMU 17-7. The Knights have lost all three of their games to fellow bowl teams and lost by 10 points or less in each contest. UCF has averaged 33.8 points and 384.2 yards per game on the season on offense while allowing just 18 points per game on defense. The Knights have been led by running back Ronnie Weaver, who has rushed for 890 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In terms of injuries, UCF has now new ones to report while Georgia cornerback Sanders Commings is questionable with an ankle injury.
Over 13,600 public bets have been placed on this game with Georgia getting 70% of the wagers with point spread odds of -6.5 against Central Florida.
