A historic rivalry adds another chapter on Saturday when California hosts Stanford at 3:30PM ET.

The Cardinal is 9-1 on the year and 6-1 in the Pac-10 while Cal is 5-5 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. The Bears are 4-1 at home this season while Stanford is 4-1 on the road.

Trends show that Stanford is just 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine games with Cal while the under has hit in six of the last eight games in this series.

Opening odds had Stanford at -8 and that spread has dropped all week before bottoming out at -6.5 The over/under total opened at 51.5 and has since dropped down to 51.

Stanford has won five straight, which included three wins by 10 points or less. The Cardinal has scored 31 points in all games this season expect for last week’s 17-13 win over Arizona State. Stanford is averaging 467.1 yards per game this season while the defense is allowing 333.5 yards per game. Andrew Luck has thrown for 2,511 yards and 22 touchdowns this season while Stepfan Taylor has rushed for 849 yards and 11 scores. Doug Baldwin has caught 46 passes for 630 yards and six scores.

Cal is coming off a 15-13 loss to Oregon last week where it missed a short field goal late in the game that could have been the difference. The Bears have lost five of their last eight games after a 2-0 start. Cal is averaging 342.5 yards per game on offense while the defense is giving up 301.3 yards per game. Kevin Riley has thrown for 1,409 yards and 13 touchdowns while Shane Vereen has 998 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Marvin Jones has added 45 receptions for 699 yards and three scores.

Stanford receiver Chris Owusu is questionable for Saturday’s game with an undisclosed Injury while Cal quarterback Kevin Riley will miss the game with a knee injury.
