Before making wagers on any of today’s NFL games, make sure you get updates on the injury status for Brett Favre, David Garrard and Michael Vick. Read on to check out our 2010 NFL Week 7 Injury Report.
Below is a synopsis of the big injuries in Week 7 of the NFL. For a more complete list of injuries check out our NFL Injuries page.
Bengals’ corner Jonathan Joseph (ankle) missed some practice time this week and will be a game time decision on Sunday against the Falcons, who may also be without their top corner Dunta Robinson (concussion). Rookie first round pick Sean Weatherspoon (knee) is out for Sunday’s game.
After briefly contemplating retirement earlier this week, Steelers linebacker James Harrison was back at practice on Friday and will play against the Dolphins, who will be without DE Jared Odrick (foot/could miss rest of season).
The Bills will likely be without cornerback Terrence McGee (back), although he hasn’t pulled ruled out for this Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Baltimore has a long list of injuries, although the only players that have officially been ruled out are Jared Gaither (back), Tavares Gooden (shoulder) and Donte Stallworth (foot). Ray Rice (ankle) will play.
The Jaguars are beat up at the quarterback position, as David Garrard (concussion) and Trent Edwards (right thumb) were unable to practice. That means Todd Bouman will likely get the start against the Chiefs, who are relatively healthy.
Josh Cribbs (head) did not practice this week and will probably miss this Sunday’s game against the Saints. Jake Delhomme (ankle), Mohamed Massaquoi (head) and Seneca Wallace (ankle) are all unlikely to play as well. Peyton Hillis (thigh) should play, however. The Saints will once again be without Reggie Bush (fibula), Tracy Porter (knee) and probably Pierre Thomas (ankle), but Drew Brees (knee) and Jeremy Shockey (illness) will play.
Outside of Clinton Portis (groin), the Redskins shouldn’t be missing players Sunday against the Bears. Chris Cooley (head), LaRon Landry (Achilles) and DeAngelo Hall (back) all practiced this week. For the Bears, Lance Briggs (ankle) was limited in practice, as was Chris Harris (knee) and Brian Urlacher (groin).
Nate Clements (ankle) did not practice for the 49ers this week, but Vernon Davis (knee) and Manny Lawson (rib) did. Center Eric Heitmann (neck) is out, however. The Panthers will be without Jeff Otah (knee) and Jamar Williams (knee), but Steve Smith (ankle) was able to practice and should play.
Ron Bartell (thigh) was unable to practice this week for the Rams, as was Justin King (hamstring), Clifton Ryan (migraines) and Darian Stewart (hamstring). For the Bucs, Davin Joseph (knee), Elbert Mack (heel) and Brian Price (pelvis) did not practice, although Earnest Graham (hamstring) and Kellen Winslow (knee) will both play, as should Barrett Ruud (toe).
Michael Vick was able to practice this week but will likely be held out until after the Eagles’ bye next week. Receiver DeSean Jackson will not play after suffering a concussion last week, while Brodrick Bunkley (elbow) and Jason Peters (knee) did not practice (their status is uncertain for Sunday). Vince Young (knee) did not practice for the Titans, although he hasn’t been ruled out yet. Tony Brown (knee) and Bo Scaife (groin) did not practice either, although Kerry Collins (right finger) did.
The Cardinals may get receiver Steve Breaston (knee) back this week against the Seahawks, who are relatively healthy and have no major injuries to report.
For the Patriots, Tom Brady (right shoulder) was able to practice, but Fred Taylor (toe) could not. The Chargers may be without Antonio Gates (toe), Larry English (foot) and Craig Davis (ribs), but Ryan Mathews (ankle) should play and see an increased role.
The big injury news for the Raiders is that Bruce Gradkowski (right shoulder), Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Jason Campbell (knee) were all limited in practice this week. If neither Gradkowski nor Campbell can go, Kyle Boller will get the start against the Broncos, who could be without Eddie Royal (groin) and Brian Dawkins (knee).
Brett Favre (ankle) was limited in practice this week but there’s no way he’s going to miss a trip to Green Bay and a chance to play his former team. Percy Harvin (hamstring), E.J. Henderson (knee) and Lito Sheppard (head) were all limited but should play against the Packers, who have too many injuries to count. Donald Driver (quad) did not practice and neither did Charles Woodson (toe). The good news is that Clay Matthews (hamstring) and A.J. Hawk (groin) should both play, as should Mark Tauscher (shoulder).
For Monday night’s game between New York and Dallas, Mathias Kiwanuka (neck) and Osi Umeyiora (knee) were both unable to practice, although they haven’t been ruled out. Dez Bryant (ankle) didn’t practice for the Cowboys, but he should be able to play come Monday.
