Rangers vs. Rays Game 5 Pick
The final American League playoff divisional series will be completed Tuesday night when Tampa Bay hosts Texas.
The series between these two is tied at 2-2 with the road team winning all four games. Tonight’s first pitch is set for 8:05PM ET with Cliff Lee taking on David Price on the mound.
Lee is 7-5 against the Rays in his career with a 2.76 ERA while Price is 0-3 against Texas with a 6.92 ERA. Price has not made it to the seventh inning against the Rangers in his career.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s playoff game 5:

The Rays have won 13-of-18 meetings against the Rangers in Tampa Bay but the Rays are 0-4 in their last four playoff games as a favorite and 0-5 in their last five games against a left-handed starter.
Texas is 6-0 in their last six games as a road underdog and 5-0 in their last five games as a left-handed starter.
With the Rangers having the trends in their favor and having the better pitcher on the mound with a more consistent offense, I like a pick of the Rangers to win this playoff game.
