Desperate for a win, UCLA is getting 3-points at home against Houston on Saturday.
Houston is a 3-point favorite heading to UCLA according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com and the over/under is set at 63.
Houston is 2-0 on the year and 1-0 against the spread while hitting the over. The Cougars can score in bunches but are just 1-8 ATS as road favorites since 2008 and 4-9 ATS in all road games during that time period. Houston does tend to hit the over, doing so in 9-of-13 road games since 2008.
UCLA is 0-2 on the year and 0-2 against the spread while hitting the over and under one time each. The Bruins are 8-2 ATS as home underdogs of 3 points or less since 1992 and 8-6 ATS in home games since 2008. The Bruins have hit the under in 11-of-14 home games over the last three seasons while also hitting in 16-of-22 games on a grass field since 2008.
Houston is an impressive offense, but the Cougars have also struggled against lesser opponents in the past. UCLA needs a win desperately before falling to 0-3 on the year. We feel confident that the under will hit as UCLA will play ball-control football while giving a spirited defensive effort. We also think the Bruins will win straight-up as Houston hasn’t proven it has the cache to win consistently on the road.
