LSU vs. North Carolina Prediction
Even though it opened as an underdog, can LSU cover the 7.5-point spread it has against a thin North Carolina football team?
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL currently list LSU as 7.5-point favorites against North Carolina. The over/under has been set at 43.5. This game takes place from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
LSU was 5-7 against the spread last season and hit the under 8 times in 13 games. The Tigers are just 5-11 ATS as a favorite over the last two seasons and just 8-16 ATS in all lined games during that stretch.
North Carolina was 6-6 against the spread last season and hit the under 6 times in 11 games. The Tar Heels are 2-0 ATS as an underdog of 3.5 to 10 points in the last two seasons and also 6-2 ATS as an underdog during that stretch. Since 1992, UNC is 5-0 ATS in dome contests.
Everything in the trends says go with the Tar Heels, but this UNC team isn’t what it was made out to be to start the season because of the suspension issues. With the defense down to nothing as it has lost at least six starters and possible three more, LSU should be able to move the ball and score. UNC struggles on offense and will have trouble moving the ball on the Tigers. We like LSU to cover while the under also hits.
