2010 Heisman Odds
The 2010 College Football Season is just a little over a week away from starting and the odds are out for which player will walk out with the 2010 Heisman Trophy.

It should be no surprise that Alabama’s Mark Ingram is the favorite to win the trophy this season as he won the award in 2009 and is back for his junior season.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Ingram 7/2 odds to win the Heisman. Other short odds are Terrelle Pryor of Ohio State (5/1), Jake Locker of Washington (8/1), Kellen Moore of Boise State (10/1), Christian Ponder of Florida State (10/1), and Ryan Mallett of Arkansas (10/1).
Ingram rushed for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2009 while catching 32 passes for 334 yards and three scores to win the 2009 award and help lead the Crimson Tide to the national championship. Only one player has ever won the Heisman Trophy twice, and that was Archie Griffin of Ohio State.
Pryor has short odds due to his ability to run and throw. Last season, Pryor threw for 2,094 yards and 18 scores while rushing for 779 yards and seven touchdowns. The junior came on late in the year and many people think this will be his breakout year as Ohio State looks to make a run at the national title.
Locker is considered the top quarterback prospect in college football in terms of NFL Draft status. Locker threw for 2,800 yards and 21 touchdowns while also rushing for seven touchdowns and 388 yards. The senior plays for Washington, which isn’t on the radar much for a big season, so he will need huge numbers to become a contender.
Moore is the junior quarterback for Boise State. He has had amazing numbers in two years but never gotten much Heisman buzz. In 2009, Moore threw for 3,536 yards and 39 touchdowns with just three interceptions as the Broncos went 14-0. Perhaps Moore will get more consideration for the Heisman if the Broncos play for the national championship this year.
The senior quarterback of Florida State, Ponder, hasn’t had any overwhelming stats in the past. Last season he threw for 2,717 yards and 14 scores with seven interceptions. This season, under new coach Jimbo Fisher, Florida State has high hopes for an ACC title, which could help Ponder make a run at the Heisman.
Mallett is the junior quarterback of Arkansas and his numbers were great in 2009 as well, but the Razorbacks don’t get much national media attention. Mallett threw for 3,624 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. With the SEC having key losses for many teams, Mallett and the Razorbacks could have a big year.
