As the 2010 NBA Finals begin Thursday night, it is clear that oddsmakers see two players as the clear favorites to win the 2010 NBA Finals MVP.

The NBA Finals MVP Award is given to the player from the winning team considered the most valuable to his team during the NBA Finals Series. Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers and Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics have emerged as the front runners to win the award.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have given Bryant 1/2 odds to win the award while Rondo has 1/1 odds. Other short odds are Paul Pierce (15/4), Ray Allen (15/1), and Pau Gasol (15/1).

Bryant is averaging 29.4 points per-game during the playoffs along with 5.125 rebounds and 6.19 assists per-game. Bryant is shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from 3-point land. He is clearly the leader of the Lakers.

Rajon Rondo has exploded in the playoffs and established himself as the best player on the floor for the Celtics. The point guard is averaging 16.7 points, 10 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per-game in the postseason. Rondo also has 35 steals while shooting 46.7 percent from the field.

Paul Pierce is the emotional leader of the Celtics and he also leads

Boston
in points at 19.1 points per-game. Pierce also chips in with 6.23 rebounds and 3.59 assists per-game. Pierce is shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point land.

Allen is a sharp-shooter from the outside as he averages 2.59 3-pointers per-game. Allen 16.76 points per-game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Gasol is having a solid playoff run as he is averaging 20 points and 10.88 rebounds per-game. Gasol also has 30 blocks to his credit while shooting an amazing 56.5 percent from the field.
