The Conn Smythe Trophy goes to the players considered to be the MVP of the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals. This year’s finals features the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. Chicago center Jonathan Toews has emerged as the favorite to win the trophy.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have given Toews 1/6 odds to win the award. Other short odds are Antti Niemi (5/1), Michael Leighton (5/1), and Mike Richards (6/1).
Toews has seven goals and 19 assists in the playoffs to lead Chicago. He has taken 40 shots on goal and has a plus/minus of +4 through 16 games.
Niemi is Chicago’s goalie and he is 12-4 in the playoffs with a goals against average of 2.33 and a save percentage of .921. Niemi has made 430 saves in the playoffs and recorded two shutouts.
Leighton is the goalie for Philadelphia and he is 6-1 in the playoffs with a goals against average of 1.45. Leighton has made 199 saves and has recorded three shutouts with a save percentage of .948.
Richards is a center for he Flyers and he has six goals and 15 assists during the playoffs for Philadelphia. Richards has taken 39 shots on goal and has a plus/minus of +6.
