The Philadelphia Flyers have advanced to the 2010

Stanley Cup Finals as champions of the Eastern Conference.

Despite being the No. 7 seed, the Flyers had the longest odds to win the East, yet here they are appearing in their first Stanley Cup Final since 1997.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL,
Philadelphia had 30/1 odds to win the Eastern Conference, meaning a $100 bet on

Philadelphia will pay out $3,000.

Philadelphia opened the playoffs win an impressive 4-1 series win over

New Jersey. The Flyers held the Devils to two goals or less in all four wins.

In the conference semifinals, the Flyers disposed of

Boston in seven games. The Flyers fell behind 3-0 in the series but rallied to win the final four, including game seven in which

Philadelphia was also down 3-0 but won 4-3.

In the conference finals,
Philadelphia dominated upset-minded

Montreal 4-1. The Flyers opened the series with back-to-back shutouts and then added another in game four before closing things out in game five with a 4-2 win.

The Flyers will take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, starting on Saturday.
