The Boston Bruins kick off their 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs second round series with the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday at 12:30PM ET.

Boston the favorites to win the series with a money line of -140 while the Flyers have a line of +110.

In four games this season, the series was split down the middle. Two of the games were decided by one goal and Boston took more shots in all but one game in the series, with the lone game where the Bruins were out-shot being by just one.

During the regular season,

Boston scored 206 goals but allowed just 200, which was the second fewest allowed in the NHL this season. The Bruins won 39 games in the season for 91 points.

Boston was just 18-17-6 at home but had a 21-13-7 record on the road. Leading the Bruins in scoring was David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron who each racked up 52 points. Marco Sturm led the team in goals with 22 while Zdeno Chara led in assists with 37. Tuukka Rask won 22 games in net for the Bruins, including five shutouts. In the playoffs, Rusk racked up 179 saves with a save percentage of .927. He has a goals against average of 1.97 and has a save percentage of .930 throughout the year. Buffalo 4-2. The Bruins won all three games at home in the series. Those three wins were also by just one goal.



Boston averaged 2.7 goals and 34.2 shots per-game in the series while allowing 2.5 goals and 32.3 shots per-game.

The Flyers scored 236 goals in the regular while allowing 225.

Philadelphia won 41 games on the season for 88 points and they were 24-14-3 at home and 17-21-3 on the road. Mike Richards scored 31 goals and had 31 assists to lead the Flyers while Jeff Carter added 33 goals and 28 assists. Carter is currently battling a foot injury that has sidelined him indefinitely.. Brian Boucher won just nine games during the regular season and had a goals against average of 2.76 with a save percentage of .900, but in the playoffs, Boucher stepped up his game. Boucher racked up 126 saves in net for the Flyers while having a save percentage of .940 to lead them to a 4-1 series win over No. 2

New Jersey. The Flyers won the last three games of the series and picked up two wins at

New Jersey. During the series the Flyers averaged 3 goals and 25.2 shots per-game and gave up just 1.8 goals and 27 shots per-game.

The key to this series will be for Boucher to continue his strong play.
Philadelphia looks like it will be tough for anyone and while
Boston had a good performance against

Buffalo, the Flyers looked better against a stronger opponent.

Philadelphia will have to find a way to improve its defense against the Bruins, as it can’t afford to get outshot in each game. Ultimately, look for the Flyers to continue to play at a high level and win this series in six games.
