No. 25 Georgia Tech hasn’t been able to consistently play well this season, but the Yellowjackets are hoping to establish some consistency on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets will travel to Mississippi State at 7:30PM ET from Davis Wade Stadium.

The Yellowjackets are 3-1 on the year, but have not put together a full 60 minutes of football this year. Wins over Jacksonville State and Clemson were lackluster, and a 33-17 loss at Miami exposed Georgia Tech’s weaknesses. Last week, in a 24-7 win over North Carolina, the Yellowjackets showed that they could contend for the ACC title. The Jackets racked up 406 yards in the win while holding the Tar Heels to 154 yards of offense. Josh Nesbitt threw for 89 yards and rushed for 97 yards with two scores, as Georgia Tech rushed for 317 yards as a team. On the year, Nesbitt has thrown for 446 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 310 yards and three scores. Georgia Tech is last in the ACC in passing yards, but is first in the conference in rushing with 1,048 yards on the ground. On defense, the Yellowjackets rank among the worst in the conference in passing defense, as they have allowed 861 yards through the air in four games.
Mississippi State is 2-2 on the year and is coming off a 30-26 loss to LSU, where the Bulldogs were stopped at the 1-yard line three-straight plays in the fourth quarter. A score would have given the Bulldogs a win and a 2-1 start in the SEC, but instead they are now 1-2 and likely out of the conference title picture. Mississippi State has two quarterbacks in Tyson Lee and Chris Reif. The two have combined for over 600 yards passing and five touchdowns. Anthony Dixon has rushed for 321 yards and three scores on the year as well.
