Let Down Week?
After another upset win over Penn State last Saturday, No. 13 Iowa will look to avoid a letdown on Saturday, when the Hawkeyes host Arkansas State at Noon from Kinnick Stadium.
Iowa is 4-0 on the year with three wins by 11 points or less. The Hawkeyes nearly lost the season opener to Northern Iowa, but blocked a last-second field goal to get a 17-16 win. Since, Iowa has beaten Iowa State and Arizona, as well as the Nittany Lions last weekend. Iowa only had 298 yards of offense, but forced four turnovers and had a defensive touchdown on a blocked punt by Adrian Clayborn. On the year, Ricky Stanzi has thrown for 779 yards and five touchdowns for Iowa. The running game for the Hawkeyes has been led by Adam Robinson, who had 321 yards and four scores, while Brandon Wegher had 220 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Iowa has been led by Tyler Sash, who has four interceptions.
The Red Wolves are 1-2 on the year. They opened the year with a 61-0 win over Mississippi Valley State, but have since lost to Nebraska and Troy. Corey Leonard has thrown for 450 yards and two touchdowns in the three games, while Reggie Arnold leads the rushing attack with 241 yards and seven scores. The Red Wolves have been carried by their defense this far, which surprisingly has no interceptions, but still leads the Sun Belt Conference in points and yards allowed per-game.
