Pike has the eighth most passing yards of any player in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Mardy Gilyard is also having a breakout season, as he has caught 23 passes for 265 yards and four touchdowns. The Bearcats have also been able to establish a run this season behind the tandem of Jacob Ramsey and Isaiah Pead, who have combined for 299 yards and two scores on the ground. On defense, the Bearcats have eight interceptions in three games with J.K. Schaffer and Aaron Webster each picking up two.

. The Bulldogs had a shootout with the Broncos last week in a 51-34 loss at home. Ryan Mathews rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the loss while Ryan Colburn threw for just 187 yards on 14-of-29 passing with two interceptions. Colburn has thrown for just 637 yards on 41-of-74 passing in three games with six interceptions and six touchdown passes. Mathews has rushed for 447 yards thus far, but the Bulldogs need more from their passing game to succed.
