The Owls are playing their third-straight road game to open the season, and have lost their first two games. Last week, Rice lost to Texas Tech 55-10. The Owls allowed the prolific Red Raiders’ offense to rack up 560 yards while Rice managed just 257 yards. The Owls used three different quarterbacks in the game, with John Thomas Shepherd doing the best, throwing for 109 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-19 passing. Offensively, the Owls allowed six sacks and turned the ball over two times.
