The third week of the 2009 College Football Season is on deck and teams are beginning to get weeded out of the national title picture.

Conference games begin for some this week while others have some competitive non-conference matchups.

Perhaps the top game of the week takes place on Thursday, when Georgia Tech heads to

Miami. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made the Hurricanes 4.5-point home favorites in the game.

Miami is coming off its late rally in the opening week to get past

Florida
State 38-34. The Yellowjackets are 2-0 on the season, defeating Clemson 30-27 last Thursday.

Another key game this week is between Virginia Tech and

Nebraska. The Hokies are 3.5-point favorites at home and in need of a win over the Cornhuskers after losing to

Alabama in the season opener.
Nebraska has cruised in its first two wins of the season, but a win over the Hokies would be a win that could put

Nebraska in the national title picture.

Lane Kiffin gets his first taste of SEC football on Saturday when his Tennessee Volunteers face
Florida in

Gainesville. The Gators are 28.5-point favorites at home over Kiffin, but this game could get ugly as Kiffin accused

Florida coach Urban Meyer of recruiting violations during the offseason, which were proven to be untrue.
