had perhaps the most impressive win of the opening week of the 2009 college football season.

Saturday, the Bearcats look to build on that when they host Southeast Missouri State at 7:30 PM ET from Nippert Stadium.

Cincinnati dominated Rutgers 47-15 last Monday at
Rutgers to open the season. The win was big for the Bearcats in the Big East Conference, as the Scarlet Knights were the preseason favorite to win the conference.
Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly opened his third season with the Bearcats by racking up 564 yards of offense while holding
Rutgers to 293 yards. Tony Pike threw for 362 yards on 27-of-34 passing and three touchdowns. Mardy Gilyard caught one of the touchdown passes and had eight receptions for 89 yards. On defense,
Cincinnati forced three turnovers and sacked
Rutgers’ quarterbacks on five occasions. The defending Big East champions went from being unranked to 23rd in the AP poll after the win.

State rolled in a 72-3 win over

Quincy
to open its season last weekend. Matt Scheible threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one in the victory, finishing with 222 yards passing. Henry Harris rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns. The Redhawks had three interceptions in the win, two of which came from Sam Donatucci.
