Rutgers Hit The Road

Rutgers has failed in its last two outings against the Big East elite, and will now take their show on the road to West Point to take on the Army Cadets. The Scarlet Knights haven’t lived up to their pre-season hype evidenced by their poor 5-4 mark, but a win here will make HC Schiano’s men Bowl eligible for the third straight season. The same can’t be said of Army who’s in the midst of going through yet another disappointing season. They have tied last years season win total at three, but they’ll have to win out against Rutgers, Tulsa, and Navy to secure a Bowl bid for the first time since 1996.

Tough at Heinz

It’s back to divisional play Monday night as the (4-3) Ravens invade Heinz Filed to take on the (5-2)Steelers. This has been a fierce rivalry over the year’s that’s seen a wide variety of games. There’s been blow-outs, OT battles, season sweeps, but the main constant has been the fact that neither club has lost much in this series in their own house. That however wasn’t the case last year when Baltimore swept the season series from the defending Super Bowl champs. Expect the men in yellow and black to be out for blood this evening.

CMN Classic Picks

Daniel Chopra won the Ginn sur Mer last week, a tournament I didn't know how to pronounce until it started (I thought it was Ginn like gin).

The Red Sox won, too. I mention it only because of the following, from last week's piece: One of my picks this week, Daniel Chopra, is a stick-to-the-game-plan pick that Terry Francona would be proud of. I went on about how I've been picking Chopra a lot the last couple years, and asked at what point do you stop picking for potential, etc. Well, now that he's won, I might be picking him even more.
