MINNEAPOLIS, MN (The Spread) – One of the marquee matchups this Sunday will take place in Minnesota when the Vikings host the Packers at 4:25PM ET.
GREEN BAY: The Packers won their fourth straight game and for the ninth time in their last 10 contests with a 55-7 rout over Tennessee in Week 16. Aaron Rodgers completed 27-of-38 passes for 342 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, while Ryan Grant rushed 20 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. James Jones also caught seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Jermichael Finley caught five passes for 70 yards. The win runs Green Bay’s record to 11-4 overall and 9-6 against the spread after the Pack covered as a 10.5-point favorite versus the Titans. The win coupled with a San Francisco loss to Seattle also put the Packers in position to clinch the No. 2 overall seed in the NFC with a win over the Vikings on Sunday.
MINNESOTA: The Vikings won their third-straight game last Sunday with a surprising 23-6 thrashing of the Texans in Houston. Adrian Peterson rushed 25 times for 86 yards while Christian Ponder completed 16-of-30 passes for 174 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Rookie Jarius Wright also caught five passes for 53 yards while Michael Jenkins caught two passes for 41 points. The win improves Minnesota’s record to 9-6 overall and 7-7-1 against the spread after covering as a 7.5-point underdog versus Houston. The Vikings have now put themselves in position to clinch the final spot in the NFC playoffs with a win or Chicago, Dallas and New York losses.
