Josh Freeman was equally spectacular, however, as he completed 24-of-42 passes for 420 yards and three touchdowns. Vincent Jackson had a fantastic day, catching seven passes for 216 yards and one touchdown, while Doug Martin added 85 rushing yards and a score. The loss dropped Tampa Bay’s roster to 2-4 and 4-2 against the spread, while the over is now 4-2 in the Bucs’ first six games.
MINNESOTA: It wasn’t pretty but the Vikings got it done last Sunday versus the Cardinals. Christian Ponder completed just 8-of-17 passes for 58 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, but Adrian Peterson rushed for 153 yards on 23 carries and added a touchdown in Minnesota’s 21-14 victory. The win lifted the Vikings’ record to 5-2 on the year and allowed Minnesota to keep pace with the Bears in the NFC North. The Vikes were 7-point favorites so they pushed, meaning they ran their ATS record to 3-3-1 on the season.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Vikings are 6.5-point favorites over the Bucs, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 42.5 points. The Bucs enter this game with a straight up record of 2-4 and are 4-2 against the spread, while the Vikings are 5-2 straight up and 3-3-1 ATS.
TRENDS: The Buccaneers are 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the home team is 9-2-1 against the number in the last 12 meetings.
