Patriots vs. Ravens Week 3 Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – A rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game will take place on Sunday Night Football when the Ravens host the Patriots tonight at 8:20PM ET. NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots dropped to 1-1 on the season with their 20-18 loss as a 13.5-point home favorite against the Cardinals. Tom Brady completed 28-of-46 passes for 316 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Stevan Ridley chipped in 71 yards on 18 carries and no scores. Wes Welker led the team in receiving with five catches for 95 yards, while tight end Rob Gronkowski hauled in six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. Despite having decent numbers the Patriots couldn’t sustain drives and were just 1-of-3 inside the red zone. Heading into the week they were favored to win the Super Bowl but their embarrassing effort has dropped them behind the 49ers, who are now 5/1 favorites to win the 2013 Super Bowl. BALTIMORE: The Ravens couldn’t hang onto a six-point lead with five minutes remaining in Philadelphia last week and wound up losing to the Eagles, 24-23. Joe Flacco completed 22-of-42 pass attempts for 232 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Ray Rice racked up 99 yards on 16 carries. Tight end Dennis Pitta led the Ravens in receiving with 65 yards on eight catches, while Rice chipped in 53 receiving yards on six catches. The loss dropped Baltimore to 1-1 although the Ravens have covered the spread in both weeks. (They were a 3-point road underdog against the Eagles last Sunday.) ODDS: According to odds makers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Ravens are currently 3-point favorites over the Patriots, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 49.5 points. And of the wagers currently placed on this game, 54% of the betting public currently favors the Ravens. TRENDS: The Patriots are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Ravens and the underdog is 3-1-1 against the number in the last five meetings between these two teams.
