McCoy will also get his leading receiver back in Jordan Shipley. The Texas defense will be aided with the return of linebackers Roddrick Muckelroy and Sergio Kindle, as well as safety Earl Thomas.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction, Texas has opened with 8/1 odds to win the 2010 BCS National Championship. Although Florida, Oklahoma and USC will all challenge for a title appearance, those odds are pretty good for bettors considering how good a team Texas is.

The Longhorns will essentially go as far as McCoy takes them, although replacing multiple starters along the defensive line will also be a key for a successful season for Texas. This program would also benefit from Vondrell McGee, Cody Johnson or Foswhitt Whittaker emerges as a go-to-guy in UT’s backfield, although McCoy is more than capable of handling the rushing load again for this program.
