2011 nba finals odds to win heat mavericks

(TheSpread) – The 2011 NBA Finals matchup has been set and it is a rematch of the 2006 Finals with Miami taking on Dallas.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com the Heat is the favorite to win the NBA Finals with odds of 1/2 while the Mavericks have 8/5 odds to win. The Finals will begin on Tuesday, May 31.

Miami ran through the Eastern Conference by winning all three series it played in in five games. Miami opened with a series win over Philadelphia and then went on to beat the defending conference champions, Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals. In the conference finals, Miami beat top-seeded Chicago in five games, winning the last four games of the series.

Dallas has won 10 of its last 11 games and won its last five road contests. The Mavericks opened the Western Conference playoffs by beating Portland in six games and then swept the two-time defending conference champs, Los Angeles. In the conference finals, Dallas took care of Oklahoma City in five games.

In 2006, the Heat won this series in six games to claim their first NBA Championship. This season, the Mavericks won both regular season meetings with the Heat. The two games were decided by a total of 13 points. Miami will have the home court advantage in the series.
