BALTIMORE (AP) -Aubrey Huff became the first Baltimore player to hit for the cycle since Cal Ripken in 1984, accomplishing the feat Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels.
Huff was the third major leaguer to hit for the cycle this season. Fred Lewis of the San Francisco Giants did it on May 13 and Mark Ellis of Oakland did it June 14.
Huff tripled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth, hit a three-run homer in the fifth and singled in the seventh. He left for a pinch-runner after going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Brooks Robinson is the only other Orioles player besides Ripken and Huff to achieve the cycle. Huff was the first Baltimore player to pull off the feat at home.
