Giants 14/1 to win WS, re-sign Crawford
The San Francisco Giants have ensured that they will keep their starting shortstop in place for the foreseeable future after re-signing Brandon Crawford to a contract extension.
FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal noted that Crawford’s extension with the Giants is for six years at $75 million and also includes a full no-trade clause. The shortstop was set to become a free agent after the 2017 season but instead will be locked up through the 2021 season.
Crawford hit .256 for the Giants last season and broke out for 21 home runs, which was a career high. He also drove in 84 runs, stole six bags and won his first career Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove. On top of producing offensively, Crawford is one of the best defensive shortstops in the game.
The Giants are expected to make a splash in free agency this winter and are 14/1 to win the 2016 World Series according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. They’ve already been connected to Zack Greinke and David Price in the hot stove rumor mill.
