From Rotoworld: Kuhl allowed four earned runs, nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts across six innings in a loss in Colorado on Saturday. Kuhl is not cutting the mustard in Pittsburgh. He was a big reason why the team was unable to extend a six-game winning streak. Don’t be surprised if the Pirates, suddenly contenders in the National League Central, pull the plug on Kuhl soon if he cannot start pitching more consistently. The replacement might come in the form of a rental from another organization at the non-waiver trade deadline
Wood was hit hard in a no-decision on Sunday, giving up four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 frames against the White Sox. Wood walked one and struck out four on the afternoon. He started the day strong, with four scoreless innings, but seemed to tire in the fifth where Adam Engel delivered a three-run double and scored on a double by Jose Abreu. If he makes another start in the Royals’ rotation it will come on Saturday against the Red Sox in Boston.
