Pirates doubled up by Mets
Pittsburgh lost by a 6-3 score at New York Friday night to drop to 46-57 overall and 23-30 on the road. Adam Frazier helped pace the Pirates offense as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs. Josh Bell was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Colin Moran finished 1-for-4 with an RBI. Dario Agrazal suffered the loss as he surrendered five earned runs on four hits with one strikeout and no walks over 5 1/3 innings. Trevor Williams draws the start today for Pittsburgh as he enters with a 3-3 record, 4.96 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 68 strikeouts over 81 2/3 innings.
Mets homer four times in win
New York posted a 6-3 home victory Friday night over Pittsburgh to improve to 48-55 overall and 26-20 at home. Jeff McNeil helped lead the Mets offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Wilson Ramos and Todd Frazier were both 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Zack Wheeler picked up the win as he allowed three earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks over 5 1/3 innings. MLB Betting Trends
Pittsburgh
The Pirates are 2-12 in their last 14 games overall. Pittsburgh is 0-4 in its last four games versus a left-handed starter.
New York
The Mets are 7-2 in the last nine Matz home starts. New York is 3-7 in its last 10 home games versus a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
Williams was awesome and efficient last season, but hasn’t been able to find that same magic in 2019. He was solid his last time out, however, and could be turning a corner in the season’s last two months. With Matz being inconsistent and allowing so many baserunners, I think there is a good chance Pittsburgh jumps on him early and rides Williams with a lead. The Pirates have struggled over the last few weeks, but New York is one of those teams that can never seem to string wins together for very long. This is a good spot for a dog bet.
