Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Yonder Alonso hit a pinch-hit RBI double for the Rockies’ lone run in his debut for the team Tuesday against the Nationals. He was added to the roster earlier in the day and came off the bench with a two-bagger off of reliever Michael Blazek. Alonso was a disaster with the White Sox earlier this season and doesn’t figure to play much for the Rockies, making him free to ignore in fantasy leagues even with his favorable new home environment.
Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Trea Turner hit for the cycle for the second time in his career in the Nationals’ win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Turner got the home run out of the way in his first plate appearance, taking Peter Lambert deep. He then added an infield single in the second and triple in the fifth before grounding into a double play in the sixth. Turner completed the cycle with a double in the right-center field gap in the seventh inning off of Jairo Diaz. The shortstop’s first cycle also came against the Rockies in April of 2017. Turner is the 26th player in major league history to hit for the cycle multiple times in his career and the first National to do it twice.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are just 1-6 in their last seven road games and 7-19 in their last 26 games overall.
Washington
The Nationals are 21-8 in their last 29 games overall and have won 20 of their last 28 games at home.
Prediction:
I know the Rockies are struggling mightily right now but I like they to play a sharper today than they did last night. They were embarrassed last Saturday in the Bronx, only to rebound with a victory on Sunday versus the Yankees. The Rockies are also 8-3 in Jon Gray’s last 11 starts and have won 14 of his last 17 outings on Wednesday. The Nationals, meanwhile, have dropped nine of Erick Fedde’s last 11 starts at home and are 3-7 in his last 10 outings overall.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies +140
