Updated AL Pennant Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – With the top record in the American League right now, as the Kansas City Royals well on their way to a second straight AL Championship?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Kansas City Royals are currently a 13/4 favorite to win the ALCS for a second straight season. Other short odds to win are the Los Angeles Angels (6/1), the Houston Astros (8/1) and the New York Yankees (17/2).
The Royals have the best record in the AL right now at 52-34 and they own a 4.5-game lead in the AL Central. Kansas City is the defending ALCS champ and they have won the AL Pennant three times in franchise history.
The Angels are currently in first in the AL West with a 48-40 record. They have a 1/2-game lead on the Astros. Los Angeles has won the AL Pennant one time, which was back in 2002.
Houston is 49-42 and one of the surprise teams in MLB this season. They trail the Angels by ½ a game in the AL West. The Astros are currently in the second spot in the AL Wild Card. Houston hasn’t been in the AL for long, but they were an NL Pennant winner in 2005.
The Yankees are the AL East leaders right now at 48-40. New York has a 3.5-game lead in the division. New York has won the AL Pennant 40 times, last doing so in 2009.
