Giants vs. Padres Free Pick
SAN DIEGO, CA (The Spread) – After taking Game 1 of the series on Friday night, the Padres will look to take Game 2 tonight from the reeling Giants at 7:15PM ET.
Even though the Giants have been a train wreck over the past month, they find themselves favored in tonight’s matchup. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, San Francisco is a -116 money line favorite over its NL West rivals San Diego, which is a +107 money line home dog. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 6.5 runs.
The Giants opened as -111 money line favorites but their odds have jumped to -116 as the public is currently hammering the road team. As for the Padres, their odds opened at +103 but have climbed to +107. The total hasn’t budged after opening at 6.5.
In 107.2 innings pitched this season, Tim Hudson is 7-5 with a 2.59 ERA and will take the hill for the Giants tonight versus Odrisamer Despaigne, who is 2-0 with a 0.66 ERA over just 13.2 innings of work. San Fran enters play with a 47-39 record and is 22-16 on the road this year, while San Diego is 39-47 overall and 24-23 at home.
MLB Free Pick: Take the under. According to latest MLB trends, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and 6-1-1 in the Giants’ last eight games as a road favorite. The under is also 6-1 in the Padres’ last seven home games as a home underdog, 6-1 in their last seven home games versus a right-handed starter and 13-3 in their last 16 games versus a right-handed starter. San Diego’s lineup is brutal and while San Francisco’s offense was dangerous for the first two months of the season, it’s been atrocious since that point. Even with the total set at 6.5, the under should cover without much challenge.
SATURDAY MLB FREE PICK: GIANTS/PADRES UNDER 6.5
