Jays interested in Samardzija?
DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – The Blue Jays will visit the Tigers tonight at 7:08PM ET and latest MLB trade rumors suggest they could be interested in adding a starting pitcher.
CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reports that White Sox starter Jeff Samardzija “is on the list” of the Blue Jays. The right-hander has been a disappointment in Chicago this season, posting a 4.56 ERA for the last-place White Sox. That said, his stuff remains good and he certainly would be an upgrade in Toronto’s starting rotation.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Blue Jays are +105 money line underdogs versus the Tigers, who are -125 for tonight’s game. Drew Hutchison will start for Toronto and will be countered by Detroit’s Anibal Sanchez.
The Jays are 5-1 in their last six games versus the Tigers and 4-1 in their last five trips to Detroit. The over has also been profitable in this matchup, covering in five of the last six meetings between these two teams.
