Greinke guides Diamondbacks into Rockies
The Diamondbacks’ five-game winning streak came to an unceremonious end last night. With their ace ready to go in a few short hours, however, another run could be in the making.
Zack Greinke opposes Colorado at 8:40 p.m. ET in the opener of a four-game set. His presence is enough to render Arizona a 1.5-run favorite in the eyes of online sports book BetDSI. The Rockies, meanwhile, are +153 underdogs.
Chip Hale’s group is eager to move past yesterday’s 5-2 setback in Toronto, primarily because Greinke’s solid track record in the Mile High City. The runner-up for the 2015 NL Cy Young award holds a 7-4 record with a 4.06 ERA in 19 career appearances there. He’s also 8-1 with a 2.39 ERA in the past nine starts overall.
Of course, Colorado isn’t ready to simply set down its bats and head home. Walt Weiss’ troops have won 10 of 16. The success comes across as particularly impressive in light of the unsettled nature of the Jake McGee-less bullpen?

Can Eddie Butler keep up with Greinke in a while, though? The Rockies’ hurler du jour totes a 5.97 ERA as a starter this season. Bank on it to rise even further.
