Via Rotoworld: Walker beat the Tigers by allowing one run in five innings in his first start since being activated from the disabled list on Wednesday. He missed three weeks with a finger blister. He allowed six hits and one walk while striking out six in the ballgame. Walker improves to 5-3 with a fine 3.32 ERA and middling 1.30 WHIP through 10 starts. He has 52 strikeouts and 19 walks in 57 innings. He lines up to face the Rockies at Coors Field next Wednesday.
Hoffman surrendered one run on seven hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Thursday’s win over the Giants. Hoffman struck out two and walked three on the evening. The lone run on his line came when he walked opposing number Matt Moore with the bases loaded in the second inning. In three starts since being called up on June 6, the 24-year-old right-hander has allowed just three runs on 14 hits over 18 1/3 innings. He will try to keep this roll going in a home start against the Diamondbacks next time he toes the rubber.
