Harvey won for the first time since April 11 after allowing two runs over five innings Tuesday against the Padres. Harvey was given the wide-open layup in this one, as the Mets got him seven runs in the bottom of the first. It still wasn’t easy for Harvey; he ended up walking four and throwing 103 pitches in five innings. His old form isn’t coming back that quickly. (Rotoworld)
Glasnow held the Braves to two runs over six innings Tuesday. Glasnow surrendered nine hits – including a solo home run to Matt Adams – and also walked a pair, but he managed to hold Atlanta relatively in check. He also did his part and then some at the plate, picking up three singles in three at-bats.
Bet Tonight’s Mets vs. Pirates Game
OUR PREDICTION: To put it mildly, Harvey hasn’t been good this season and the Mets haven’t been profitable when he does pitch. They’re 1-6 in his last seven starts, are 0-4 in his last four road outings, and have dropped nine of his last 10 starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game (which they did in their 5-4, 10-inning collapse on Saturday evening). The Pirates have some momentum after coming from behind in the bottom of the ninth last night, plus have owned the Mets in recent games. They’re 11-4 in their last 15 games versus New York and 7-2 in their last nine home games against the Mets. Glasnow hasn’t been great either, but the Pirates are at home facing a punch-less Harvey so I’ll roll with them.
