From Rotoworld: Miranda pitched seven innings and allowed one run Friday against the White Sox. Miranda struck out nine in the no-decision. He’s been inconsistent as Seattle’s fifth starter, but this makes three times in four starts this month that he’s pitched well.
Gonzalez surrendered four runs over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Friday. Gonzalez gave up nine hits — including two homers — and walked three. He finished the night with five strikeouts. The southpaw has allowed 11 earned runs (including six home runs) over his last three starts after giving up just seven earned runs through his first six starts. His ERA sits at 2.86 right now and we expect it to continue to rise as long as he walks batters at this pace. Gonzalez has issued at least three walks in each of his last seven starts.
Bet Today’s Mariners vs. Nationals Game
OUR PREDICTION: The under is 5-1-1 in Miranda’s last seven road starts, is 8-3 in his last 11 starts overall, and has cashed in four of his last five outings when he pitches against a team with a winning record. On the other side, the under has hit in five of Gonzalez’s last seven home starts and is 8-3 in Adam Hamari’s last 11 games behind home plate.
THURSDAY MLB PREDICTION: MARINERS/NATIONALS UNDER 9.5
