Pomeranz (triceps) said Tuesday that he expects to take his next turn in the Red Sox rotation. Pomeranz was removed his last start Sunday against the Rays with tightness in his left triceps, but he played catch Monday without issue and will throw his normal between-starts bullpen session on Wednesday. He’s lined up to face the Athletics in Oakland this weekend.

Making his return from the disabled list, Manaea walked five and surrendered four runs in five innings Monday against the Mariners. It was a far better start than it figured to be after he walked four in the first. He also gave up a two-run homer to Nelson Cruz in the second, but after that, he retired each of the final 10 hitters he faced.
