Chicago Cubs DFS Spin
Anthony Rizzo went 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI double during the Cubs’ win over the Tigers on Friday. The 31-year-old is off to a slow start at the plate, if all you look at is his batting average. If you look closer, you will notice a .359 on-base percentage to go along with five home runs, six doubles, and three stolen bases. Rizzo holds a strong 16.1 percent walk rate and 13.4 percent strikeout rate but is being held back by a .232 BABIP due to an early-season line drive drought. The veteran first baseman makes for a solid early-season buy low.
Detroit Tigers DFS Spin
José Ureña allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Saturday. Both Ureña and José Berrios were fortunate to only allow a combined four runs, as there was plenty of traffic. In Ureña’s case, the hurler allowed nine hits and three walks, but the only two runs allowed came on a Josh Donaldson homer. He fanned three, and he threw just 51-of-94 pitches for strikes in the contest. The 29-year-old now has an ERA of 3.60 on the season, and will look to go deeper in his next start on Friday against the Cubs.
