Oakland A’s DFS SPIN
Ramon Laureano walloped a solo homer on Sunday as the Athletics’ epic 13-game winning streak ended in a blowout loss to the Orioles. Laureano tattooed a solo shot to center field off Orioles’ lefty John Means in the fourth inning to supply the Athletics’ lone run of the one-sided affair. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. The 26-year-old outfielder is only hitting .227 through 19 games, but he’s already up to three round-trippers to go along with a major league-leading eight stolen bases this season.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS SPIN
Randy Arozarena went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on Sunday in the Rays’ shutout loss to the Blue Jays. Arozarena went down swinging in three of his four at-bats in the low-scoring pitchers’ duel as the Rays’ offense mustered only five hits combined in the shutout loss. The 26-year-old outfielder boasts one of the most dynamic power/speed combo skillsets in the majors, but he’s become increasingly prone to striking out, whiffing a whopping 30 times (34.9 percent) across 86 plate appearances this season. It’s not a reason for concern just yet, but it’s something fantasy managers should be monitoring closely moving forward.
A’s vs. Rays Betting Prediction
The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and is 5-2-1 in the A’s last eight games overall. The under is also 9-1-2 in the A’s last 12 games versus American League East opponents and is 4-1 in their last five games when facing an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the under is 9-3-1 in the Rays’ last 13 games versus American League West rivals.
MLB BETTING PREDICTION: A’S/RAYS UNDER 8.5
