PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the White Sox today. Chicago is currently getting 75 percent of the wagers for this game against the Royals.
KEY INJURIES
The Royals have a key name on the injury report as catcher Salvador Perez is out until May with a knee injury. He racked up 80 RBI and 27 home runs last season while hitting .268. Chicago second baseman Tyler Saladino is going through concussion protocol and is questionable to play today.
BETTING STRATEGIES
The White Sox had a hit parade on Thursday in a 14-7 victory. Chicago chased KC starter Danny Duffy after just four innings. Duffy allowed five runs in the loss. The run support allowed James Shields to get the win for Chicago. He pitched six innings and allowed four runs with no strikeouts.
Matt Davidson had the big day at the plate for Chicago, as he hit three home runs and drove in five runs. Tim Anderson wasn’t far off, hitting a pair of home runs while driving in three. Jose Abreu also homered for the Sox in the win. KC was led at the plate by Lucas Duda, who homered and drove in three runs.
Chicago’s hitting may be something to deal with this season. The Sox had some positive things start to develop at the end of the 2017 season and certainly looked strong on Thursday. Today they get to face a struggling pitcher in Kennedy, so more homers could be in the forecast. While Giolito is unproven, he has good numbers thus far in his career and is up against a KC lineup that has traditionally struggled to consistently score.
