Padres’ 2015 MLB Season Odds
SAN DIEGO, CA (The Spread) – After a busy offseason, one team drawing plenty of attention as a potential sleeper in 2015 is the San Diego Padres.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Padres’ regular season win total has been set at 84.5 while their odds to win the 2015 World Series are 16/1. They’re also 7/1 to win the NL pennant and 7/2 to win the NL West.
The Padres made several big splashes in free agency and on the trade market this winter, signing ace James Shields to a four-year contract and trading form former Atlanta outfielder Justin Upton. They also acquired Matt Kemp from the Dodgers, Derek Norris from the A’s and Wil Meyers from the Rays. Will Middlebrooks was also added via Boston.
There’s no question that San Diego is an improved team. With Shields at the top of the rotation, the pitching staff of Andrew Cashner, Tyson Ross, Ian Kennedy and Brandon Morrow is solid and the new additions to the lineup should make the Padres competitive. The only question is how long it’ll take for all of these new faces to gel.
