Royals’ 2015 MLB Season Odds
KANSAS CITY, MO (The Spread) – After just coming up short in last year’s World Series, how many games will the Royals win in the 2015 regular season?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under for number of wins that the Royals will produce in the 2015 regular season has been set at 81.5. They’re also 28/1 to win the World Series, 14/1 to win the AL Pennant and 9/2 to win the AL Central Division.
The Royals will largely rely on the same core that led them to the World Series a year ago, although they did lose ace James Shields to the Padres in free agency. Alex Gordon, Salvador Perez, Mike Moustakas, Eric Hosmer and Lorenzo Cain all return offensively, while Alex Rios will replace Nori Aoki in right field and Yordano Ventura is now the viewed as the team’s ace.
The Royals also return one of the best bullpens in all of baseball thanks to Wade Davis, Kelvin Herrera and closer Greg Holland. It appears as if they’ll rely on late-inning relief and defense to help them win in 2015 but with the White Sox improving greatly over the winter, the Tigers still loaded with talent and the Indians drawing closer to being a competitor again, the Royals may have a difficult time with a repeat playoff appearance.
